The purpose of the Hugs and Kisses project is to provide comfort with bright, colorful quilts to abused, neglected and ill children within our immediate and surrounding communities.

Come sew with us the SECOND and FOURTH THURSDAYS of each month at Mountain Presbyterian Church in Young Harris, GA, beginning at 10 a.m. Bring your sewing machine, sewing supplies, and your lunch, and spend the day working on Hugs & Kisses projects.

Our committee introduces children K-6, in our surrounding counties, to the enjoyment and love of quilting. This includes the history, showing some blocks, telling how to make a quilt and finally, making a quilt.  We also share various quilt-related books with the children and make the books available in their schools.

The mission of HEART TO HEART is to provide a measure of comfort to nursing home residents within our immediate and surrounding communities, with lap quilts, walker bags, wheelchair bags and other sewn items. It is our hope these handmade items will help our seniors to feel more at home and remind them they are loved in their community.

Heart to Heart meets on the FIRST and THIRD THURSDAY of each month, at the home of Nelda Knight, 246 Vernon's Walk, Blairsville, Ga. 10am - 2pm. Bring your lunch and your sewing essentials (we have machines or you may bring your own). Come join us! It's FUN to work for SMILES.

The mission of the Misty Mountain Quilt Camp Outreach Program is to introduce teenagers to quilting.  We want to pass on the love of quilting, basic sewing machine operation, sewing skills and the joy and benefits of hobbies to our area teenagers.  Please contact the Guild through our Contact Us page if you have a group that would be interested in learning more about our program.
