Guild Yard Sale vendors may arrive at 11:00 am, Social time at noon, meeting starts at 12:30 pm, Yard Sale opens after the business meeting. Contact Susan Slaton if you want to reserve a vendor table for the yard sale. Only quilting/sewing/needlework items may be sold!

🎄🎄🎄Sit'n'Sew Sessions at the Senior Center this month will focus on making folded fabric ornaments, bowl cozies and other items for the Center to sell at their Holiday Bazaar on November 21. Bring your own sewing machine if you want to work on bowl cozies! All are welcome! No cost, and fabric will be provided.🎄🎄🎄

Quilts of Valor needs a new chair! Nancy Durden needs to resign due to family obligations. You don't need to be a five-star quilter, but be an organizaed person willing to manage the group and the paperwork for our chapter of this national organization.

Also, if you have not yet paid  bring your dues for 2026-27: $35 + $5 late fee, in exact cash (please!) or a check made out to MMQG. We are not set up for electronic payments. And please check the printed roster to be sure that all of your contact information is correct!

Our ZOOM speaker in August was Timna Tarr, from Massachusetts, talking about "What ifs," "Working in a Series," and a showing us some of her quilts. Visit her web page gallery at https://www.timnatarr.com/ and take a look at her art quilts, collage quilt style!

Our April speaker was Bob Purcell, of YLI Threads, who came in on Zoom. He knows an amazing amount about thread and needles! He has a great 12-page "Thread Mastery Institute" booklet in .pdf format that you might want to read. It's full of great information.

Under normal circumstances, the Misty Mountain Quilters Guild meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month at the First United Methodist Church of Union County in Blairsville, GA. Usual arrival time is now 12:00 noon and the meeting begins at 12:30 p.m. It is the mission of our guild to educate, share, promote and keep alive the art and traditions of quiltmaking.

Inclement Weather Policy:  If Union County Schools are closed due to inclement weather, then Guild Activities are usually cancelled for that day. You can check the school system status at https://www.ucschools.org/.
